National Career Service: There is an uproar about the lack of employment in the country. However, government figures tell a more interesting story. According to the National Career Service (NCS) portal, there are more jobs in the country and less takers. According to NCS, 87 lakh people had applied for jobs on the portal in the financial year 2024, while the job vacancies were 1.09 crore.
214 percent jump in jobs on NCS portal
According to National Career Service, a total of 1,092,4161 jobs were registered on the portal in the financial year 2024. This figure is 214 percent more than the 34,81,944 jobs of financial year 2023. However, during the same period, the number of people taking jobs jumped by only 53 percent to 87,20,900. In the financial year 2023, only 57,20,748 jobs were registered on the portal. According to a senior government official, this increase in the number of jobs is visible due to the boom in the economy. There is full hope that this momentum will continue in the future also. Recently, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said that India's economy will grow at the rate of 8 percent.
Most jobs in finance and insurance sector
According to NCS data, maximum jobs have come in the finance and insurance sectors. This figure has increased by 134 percent from last year to 46,68,845. After this, the second highest number of jobs have been registered from the operations and support sector. There has been an increase of 286 percent in comparison to last year. There has been the biggest increase in jobs in the civil and construction sector. While only 9,396 jobs were registered from this sector in the financial year 2023, 11,75,900 jobs have come on the portal in the financial year 2024. Jobs in other services have also jumped by 199 percent to 10,70,206.
Lots of jobs for 10th and 12th pass
According to NCS data, the number of jobs has also increased in Manufacturing, IT and Communications, Transport and Storage, Education and Specialized Professional Services sectors. There has been a 179 percent jump in the number of jobs for 12th pass students. There has been a 452 percent jump in the number of jobs for students who have passed 10th or less. Jobs for ITI and diploma holders have increased by 378 percent.
