IND Vs AUS 4th Test India won the series 2-1 against Australia and qualified for the fifth day of WTC 2023 at Narendra Modi Stadium

Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023: The last and decisive match of the four-match Test series between India and Australia was a draw. In this match played in Ahmedabad, only 22 wickets fell in the entire 5 days. In such a situation, an hour before the end of the 5th day’s play, this match was declared a draw. With this, the Indian team has won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-1. This is the third time in a row that Team India has captured this trophy.

Australia scored 480 runs in the first innings
In this last match of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023, Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. The Kangaroo team scored 480 runs here thanks to the centuries of Usman Khawaja (180) and Cameron Green (114). Here Steve Smith (38), Travis Head (32), Todd Murphy (41) and Nathan Lyon (34) also played important innings. R Ashwin took 6 wickets in this innings from India. Here Shami got two and Jadeja and Akshar got 1-1 wickets.

Team India got a lead of 91 runs
Indian batsmen also gave the answer to this big score of Australia. Shubman Gill (128) and Virat Kohli (186) scored centuries. Akshar Patel (79), SK Bharat (44), Cheteshwar Pujara (42) and Rohit Sharma (35) played important innings. Indian batsmen scored a huge score of 571 runs and took a lead of 91 runs on the basis of first innings. Here Australian spin duo Nathan Lyon and Todd Murphy got 3-3 wickets. Stark and Kahneman also got 1-1 wickets.

Only 2 wickets fell on the last day
On the last day of the match, the Indian team needed to take 10 wickets of Australia but the Kangaroo batsmen stuck to the pitch and lost only two wickets. When Australia’s score was 175 runs for 2 wickets, only then the umpire declared the match a draw.

India won the series 2-1
Both the opening matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 were won by the Indian team. Where India won the Nagpur Test unilaterally, it won by 6 wickets in Delhi. However, in the third Test played in Indore, the Indian team had to face defeat by 9 wickets. The Indian team needed to draw the match to win this series and for this reason the pitch of Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad was prepared. In this way India named this series 2-1.
