Due to strong buying in Banking FMCG stocks, at one time Sensex saw a rise of 1200 points while Nifty saw a rise of almost 390 points. But due to profit booking the market came down from the day's high. Despite this, BSE Sensex closed at 73,651 points with a jump of 655 points and National Stock closed at 22,327 points with a jump of 203 points.

In today's trade, there has been a strong rise in the stocks of Banking, Auto, Pharma, FMCG, Metals, Real Estate, Energy, Infra, Consumer Durables, Healthcare and Oil and Gas sectors. Media is the only sector whose stocks declined. Buying has also been seen in midcap and smallcap shares. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 26 stocks closed with gains while 4 closed with losses. Of the 50 Nifty stocks, 42 closed with gains and 8 closed with losses.

3 lakh crore jump in investors' wealth

Due to the strong rise in the stock market, there has been a huge increase in the wealth of investors. The market capitalization of stocks listed on BSE has reached Rs 386.91 lakh crore, which was Rs 383.85 lakh crore in the last session. In today's trade, there has been a jump of Rs 3.06 lakh crore in the wealth of investors.
