Hardik Pandya explains the reasons for the defeat against Rajasthan: IPL 2024 is not going well for Hardik Pandya and his team Mumbai Indians. Mumbai lost on Monday also. Rajasthan defeated Hardik Pandya's team by 9 wickets. After the match, captain Hardik explained the reasons for his team in two points. Know here what the Mumbai captain said.
Chasing Mumbai's target of 180 runs, Yashasvi Jaiswal (104), apart from scoring an unbeaten century, added 74 for the first wicket along with Jos Buttler (35) and captain Sanju Samson (38 not out in 28 balls, two sixes, two fours). Made an unbroken partnership of 109 runs for the second wicket, due to which Royals won by scoring 183 runs for one wicket with eight balls remaining. Jaiswal hit 9 fours and 7 sixes in his 60-ball innings.
Hardik told two big reasons for defeat
Hardik Pandya said after the match, “We got ourselves into trouble early on, but the way Tilak (Verma) and Nehal (Vadhera) played was fantastic. We could not finish the innings as expected and hence We scored 10 to 15 runs less.”
The Mumbai captain further said, “In bowling we had to keep the balls on the stumps, but we bowled them away from the body in the powerplay. It was not our best day on the field. We did not give our best performance. Everyone played their part. Knows, we need to correct our mistakes and not repeat them.”
Jaiswal-Samson's catch was costly.
Mumbai's top order completely failed against Rajasthan. Rohit Sharma 06, Ishan Kishan 00 and Suryakumar Yadav returned to the pavilion after scoring 10 runs. Mohammad Nabi, who came to bat at number four, could also score only 23 runs. However, a major reason for Mumbai's defeat was the dropping of catches by Jaiswal and Samson. Nehal Vadhera dropped a simple catch of Jaiswal on the total score of 89 in the 10th over. Then in the next over, Samson was caught by Tim David on Hardik's ball.
