The Karnataka state government employees have now called off the strike. The state government has also decided to set up a committee to examine the possibility of bringing back the old pension scheme. Recently, the employees of Karnataka state had announced to go on strike due to non-implementation of 7th Pay Commission. The employees had said that if the state government does not accept the demands of the employees union by March 1, then the employees can go on strike. He had given the government time till March 1, 2023. Even before this, the government has announced to increase the salary.

17 percent hike announced

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai discussed the issue with officials of the Finance Department and KSGEA on Tuesday night after a meeting with the association’s members. After this, the state government has issued an order announcing an increase of up to 17 percent in the basic salary of government employees from April 1, 2023.

Committee formed for old pension

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that we are increasing the salary of all government employees of the state by 17 percent. Along with this, a committee has also been formed to implement the old pension scheme. The government has also issued instructions to the Additional Chief Secretary to visit those states in which the old pension scheme has been implemented and NPS has been abolished there. Also asked to submit the report in 2 months. This step will increase the government’s expenditure by Rs 12,000 crore.
