Vikram Rathore on the pitch of Indore: The third Test match between India and Australia started on March 1 at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. The pitch of this ground surprised everyone. After winning the toss, the Indian team came out to bat first and got all out for just 109 runs in the first innings. There was a lot of turn in the pitch on the first day itself. Seeing this turn, Indian batting coach Vikram Rathor reacted saying that it was more than expected.
Playing on turning track is our strength
Talking about the pitch after the match, Vikram Rathour said, “Obviously, you can get out multiple times as a batting unit. We love playing on turning tracks more. This is our strength, this is where we belong. The first two wickets, I don’t think they were bad wickets by any means. There was a turn here, but too much happened today. Today on the first day there was more turn than expected.
He further added, “To be fair to the pitch curators, they had very little time to prepare the pitch. They had a Ranji Trophy season and it was too late that it was decided to shift the game from Dharamshala. I don’t think they got much time to prepare the pitch.” Please tell that the third test match was to be held in Dharamshala earlier, but later it was shifted to Indore.
Australia dominated on the first day
Significantly, Australia’s dominance was seen on the first day of the third Test match being played in Indore. Australia first all out India for 109 runs and put 156 runs on the board at the loss of 4 wickets by the end of the first day while batting.
