Ruturaj Gaikwad reaction: Chennai Super Kings suffered their fourth defeat in IPL 2024 against Lucknow Super Giants. Lucknow defeated Chennai by 6 wickets in the match played at Chepauk Stadium. Batting first in the match, Chennai had put 210 runs on the board. But still Chennai, captained by Gaikwad, lost the match by 6 wickets. After the match, Gaikwad revealed the bitter truth and explained why the team's total of 210 runs was less.

Chennai captain Ruturaj Gaikwad told that he was in the match for 13-14 overs, but after that Lucknow snatched the match by playing brilliantly. He told that Marcus Stoinis of Lucknow played a brilliant inning and the dew did the rest.

After the match, Chennai captain Ruturaj Gaikwad said, “It is difficult to believe, but it was a good game of cricket. Lucknow played well in the end. The match was under our control till 13-14 overs, but Stoinis played a brilliant innings. ” Regarding dew further, Gaikwad said, “Dew played a role, there was a lot of dew and it took the spinners out of the match. We could have otherwise controlled the match well and taken it deep. But This is part of the game and cannot be controlled.”

The Chennai captain further said, “Jaddu has been batting at number four since the second wicket fell in the powerplay.” He further said about Shivam Dubey, “Our thinking was clear that if the wicket falls after the power play, then Shivam will go to bat. We cannot force the batsmen to get out. To be honest, I did not think that Our target was adequate, considering the dew we saw during practice, it was average, but credit goes to the Lucknow batsmen.”
