Indian domestic cricketers may get salaries up to Rs 1 crore due to BCCI's new scheme to promote red ball cricket

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given good news to Indian domestic cricketers. First, the news of incentive scheme for players playing Test cricket and now a huge jump in the salary of domestic cricketers has come to light. According to media reports, a player who plays 10 matches in a Ranji Trophy season can earn Rs 75 lakh to Rs 1 crore. Till now, an experienced domestic cricketer could earn around Rs 25 lakh in a Ranji season. Discussions are going on on many topics within BCCI and it is being told that the decision to increase the salary of domestic cricketers is being taken because of IPL, where players earn crores of rupees for playing one season.

How much money do domestic cricketers get paid now?

At present, the salary given by BCCI to domestic cricketers depends on their experience. If a player has experience of more than 40 Ranji matches, he can earn up to Rs 60,000 a day. Whereas if a player has experience of playing 21-40 Ranji matches then he gets Rs 50,000 per day. Whereas players with experience of 20 matches are paid Rs 40,000 per day. The increased salary of domestic cricketers will also be applicable to Vijay Hazare and Mushtaq Ali Trophy, but this new salary system can be implemented from the next season. With this decision of BCCI, players will be able to earn more and at the same time red ball cricket can be promoted in India.

How much do Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan earn?

If we look at the new salary system, if a domestic Indian cricketer participates in all other domestic tournaments except Ranji Trophy. Then his annual earning can be several crores of rupees. If we talk about the main batsmen of Pakistani team, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, then both of them come in Category A of the Central Contract List of PCB. In Pakistan, 'Category A' players get Rs 13.15 lakh per month as per Indian currency. Now even if an Indian cricketer plays 2-3 Ranji matches within a month, he can earn more than Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.
