India vs Australia 1st Test Nagpur: India defeated Australia by an innings and 132 runs in the first match of the Test series. This victory of Team India in Nagpur was very special. This was India’s third biggest win over Australia in terms of innings. Along with this, the match was also special for all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin. Ashwin broke many records by taking five wickets in the second innings. Australia had scored 177 runs in the first innings. In response to this, the Indian team scored 400 runs in the first innings. After this the Kangaroo team got all out for 91 runs.
Team India’s biggest win over Australia in terms of innings was in 1997/98. India defeated Australia by an innings and 219 runs in the Kolkata Test. After this, Team India got the second big victory in the Hyderabad Test. India defeated the Kangaroo team by an innings and 135 runs in 2012/13. After this, the third victory has now been achieved in Nagpur. Ravindra Jadeja was given the ‘Player of the Match’ award for the Nagpur Test. Along with taking wickets, he also scored a half-century.
Australia won the toss in Nagpur Test and decided to bat first. During this, the team got all out on the score of 177 runs in the first innings. Jadeja took 5 wickets for 47 runs in 22 overs for India. While Ashwin took 3 wickets for 42 runs in 15.5 overs. Shami and Siraj also got one wicket each.
India scored 400 runs in the first innings. Team India captain Rohit Sharma scored a century. He scored 120 runs facing 212 balls. His innings included 15 fours and 2 sixes. Jadeja scored 70 runs facing 185 balls. Ashwin contributed 70 runs and Akshar Patel contributed 84 runs. In response, the Australian team was all out for 91 runs in the second innings.
