Ruturaj Gaikwad reaction: Lucknow Super Giants defeated Chennai Super Kings badly in the 34th match of IPL 2024. In the match played at Ekana Stadium, Lucknow won by 8 wickets. Chasing the target of 177 runs, Lucknow had won the match 1 over earlier. After this defeat, Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad did not appear to be in a good mood. After the match, Gaikwad told where the Chennai team went wrong and what needs to be improved in the team.
After the match, Ruturaj Gaikwad said, “We finished well with the bat, nothing more could have been expected in the conditions we were in. We could not take advantage of the start we got after the power play and we I would say 10-15 runs were less, with the impact rule you need 10, 15 or 20 extra runs, such pitches are slow in the beginning. Looks good but gets better with dew, 190 will be a good total.”
Where is the need for improvement?
The Chennai captain said that we need to improve in terms of taking wickets in the power play. He said, “One area where we would like to improve is taking wickets in the powerplay. It will put pressure on the opposition team. We need to work on that. It is good to play against them again (next match in Chepauk). Now we have 3 wickets. If there are home matches, we will come with good homework.”
