Australia vs Pakistan 2nd Test Day 2 Report: The Australian team has tightened its grip on the second match of the three-match Test series being played in Melbourne. After scoring 318 runs in the first innings, the Kangaroos have lost 6 wickets for Pakistan's 194 runs by the end of the second day's play. However, thanks to the half-centuries of Abdullah Shafiq and captain Shan Masood, Pakistan had at one time scored 124 runs for one wicket, but then the Australian team made a strong comeback and broke the back of the visiting team.
Australia lost its last six wickets on the second day for a span of just 68 runs. At one time the Kangaroos' score was 250 runs for just 4 wickets, but the Pakistani bowlers made a strong comeback and all out the Kangaroos for 318 runs. Australia's lower order could not face the Pakistani bowlers. Wicketkeeper batsman Alex Carey once again flopped. Marnus Labuschagne scored the highest score of 63 runs for Australia. Whereas Mitchell Marsh played an inning of 41 runs with the help of 6 fours and one six. Mitchell Starc returned to the pavilion after scoring 09 runs, captain Pat Cummins 13 and Nathan Lyon scored 08 runs.
Fast bowler Aamir Jamal was the most successful for Pakistan. Aamir took maximum three wickets. He made Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith and Pat Cummins his victims. Whereas Shaheen Shah Afridi sent Travis Head and Alex Carey to the pavilion. Apart from this, Mir Hamza and Hasan Ali also got two wickets each. Salman Agha also took one wicket.
Pakistan's innings faltered after a brilliant start
Pakistan made a solid start on the second day. Opener Imam Ul Haq was out early after scoring just 10 runs, but after this Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafiq made a partnership of 90 runs for the second wicket. Abdullah Shafiq was out after scoring 62 runs in 109 balls with the help of 5 fours. Whereas Masood returned to the pavilion after scoring 54 runs in 76 balls. He hit 3 fours and one six in his innings.
Apart from this, Babar Azam 01, Saud Shakeel 09 and Agha Salman were out after scoring 05 runs. Now Mohammad Rizwan is unbeaten after scoring 29 runs in 34 balls. Aamir Jamal is on 02 runs with him. Rizwan has hit one four and one six.
