Punjab Kings Appoints Former Indian Left Arm Spinner Sunil Joshi As Spin Bowling Coach For IPL 2023

IPL 2023: All the teams are busy in their respective preparations for IPL 2023. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings have made a big change in their team for the 16th season. The team has made former Indian left arm spinner Sunil Joshi the spin bowling coach of the team. This information has been shared by the Punjab Kings themselves.

Punjab Kings gave this information through their official Twitter handle. A tweet from his side read, “We are excited to announce that former Indian left-arm spinner Sunil Joshi has been appointed as the spin bowling coach of the Punjab Kings.”

Was part of the senior selection committee

Sunil Joshi was part of the Indian senior men’s selection committee. He was the chairman of the selection committee before Chetan Sharma in March 2020. After this Chetan Sharma replaced him. However, even after this he remained a part of the selection committee. Sunil Joshi was part of the selection committee in the committee before the new selection committee formed in 2023.

Sunil Joshi is very experienced in the field of coaching. He has previously served as spin bowling coach with the men’s team of Bangladesh, Oman and USA. Apart from this, he has coached the Ranji teams of Jammu and Kashmir, Hyderabad and Assam.

Sunil Joshi made his Test debut for the Indian team in 1996 against England. He has played a total of 15 Tests and 69 ODIs in his international career. Bowling in 26 innings of 15 Test matches, he has taken a total of 41 wickets at an average of 35.85. Apart from this, in 67 innings of 69 ODIs, he has taken 69 wickets at an average of 36.36.
