WTC Final Venue: Both the previous finals of the World Test Championship were held in England. The final of the 2019-2021 session was held in Southampton, England, while the final of the 2021-2023 session was played at The Oval Stadium in London. England's Lord's Stadium has also been selected for the final match of the third World Test Championship. Now a big news is coming out that BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has talked to ICC officials about changing the venue of the World Test Championship final.
Will the final of the World Test Championship be held in India?
Talking to the media, Jay Shah has said that he has spoken to ICC officials and they will discuss the topic of changing the venue. Shah said that he has talked to ICC officials on the issue of holding the WTC Final 2027 at some other place. According to Shah, there are only 3 main centers of Test cricket in the world, which are Australia, England and India. Jay Shah told that when the final match takes place, the match cannot be held in Australia or India. At that time it is raining a lot in Bengaluru.
India has played both the finals so far
The first final match of the World Test Championship was played between India and New Zealand. In that low-scoring match, New Zealand became the first World Test champion in history by winning by 8 wickets. In the second final in 2023, the Indian team faced Australia. This time the Kangaroo team defeated India by a huge margin of 209 runs.
India is on the way to play its third final
If we look at the points table of the 2023-2025 World Test Championship, the Indian team is currently on top. India has registered 6 wins in 9 matches so far and is currently on top with a win percentage of 68.52. Australia is currently in second place in this table, which has won 62.5 percent of the matches so far. If the situation remains the same then the final can be played between India and Australia for the second consecutive time.
