Pakistan cricket team: A social media post by Mohammad Hafeez, former captain and director of Pakistan cricket team, has created a sensation in the cricket world. After the announcement of the Pakistani team for the T20 series against New Zealand, Hafeez wrote on X, 'Rest in peace Pakistani domestic cricket.' Hafeez believes that such selection has destroyed the importance of domestic cricket in the country. Hafeez has also expressed objection regarding the return of Imad Wasim and Mohammad Aamir from retirement and the debut of Usman Khan.
Speaking to Cricket Pakistan, Mohammad Hafeez said, “I respect Usman Khan's talent, but he has not been a part of the Pakistan cricket system. When your selection is not based on domestic cricket, then you will look for those cricketers. How will you encourage those who are working day and night for domestic cricket? That's why I tweeted about these 3 players. You have killed domestic cricket.
#Tear out pakistan domestic cricket

Even before this, Hafeez has been taking a jibe at PCB for its useless decisions. Let us tell you that Mohammad Aamir had said goodbye to international cricket in December 2020, but now he is making a comeback after 4 years. On the other hand, Imad Wasim had retired in November 2023, but he has decided to come out of retirement within a year. Usman Khan is a 28-year-old batsman who plays for Quetta Gladiators in the PSL. Usman has immense experience in first-class and List-A cricket. This is the reason why Mohammad Hafeez is angry at his selection. Well, Usman has definitely scored 1,207 runs while playing 36 matches in T20 matches.
