IP 2023 Impact Player Signals: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invented a new notation for the Impact Player rule ahead of the 16th edition of the IPL. The world’s biggest cricket league IPL is going to start from 31 March. The first match of the season will be between Chennai Super Kings and defending champions Gujarat Titans. This match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Umpire’s signal will be like this
Some new rules have been added in IPL 2023. There is also a rule of using an impact player. Apart from this, each team will have the option of 5 substitute players including playing XI. At the same time, to signal the impact player, the umpire has to cross his hands over his head and clench his fist. Apart from this, each captain will be allowed to carry two team sheets while going for the toss.
Used in SA20 League
The Impact Player Rule was used in the SA20 league played in South Africa this year. At the same time, this rule will be implemented in the Indian Premier League 2023. The special thing is that before the end of 14 overs of the innings, the captain can take out one player from the playing eleven and take any one of the 5 players. This rule will not apply after 14 overs. But if the match is of less overs and the match becomes less than 10 overs only, then this rule will not be implemented. To implement this rule, it is necessary to have a game of at least 11 overs. As an impact player, preference will be given to that player who has the ability to perform well with the ball and bat.
