Travis Head hits joint-fastest half-century for Sunrisers Hyderabad, scores 50 off 16 balls, IPL 2024 SRH vs DC

DC vs SRH: Delhi Capitals invited Sunrisers Hyderabad to bat first. It seems as if this decision of Rishabh Pant has backfired on him. The pair of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma are creating problems for the opposition teams. Travis Head has scored fifty in just 16 balls in the match against Delhi Capitals. Now Head has come first in terms of scoring the fastest half-century for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL. Earlier in this season, Abhishek Sharma had completed half-century in 16 balls. Travis Head made ghost of DC bowlers by hitting 4 fours and 7 sixes to complete fifty runs.

Head is the same batsman who had scored fifty in 18 balls in the match against Royal Challengers in IPL 2024 itself. In the same match, he scored the fourth fastest century in the history of the Indian Premier League by playing a century in 39 balls. Now Head has improved the record of his fastest fifty. Head has now also become the Australian player to score the second fastest half-century in the history of IPL. Ahead of him in this matter is only Pat Cummins, who completed his fifty in just 14 balls while playing for KKR in 2022.

Apart from Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma has also thrashed the bowlers of Delhi Capitals. Abhishek played an inning of 46 runs in just 12 balls in the match against Delhi, in which he also hit 2 fours and 6 sixes. Although he missed out on making the record of scoring the fastest half-century for SRH, but his explosive partnership of 131 runs in 34 balls with Travis Head has put Sunrisers Hyderabad on the front foot in the match against Delhi.
