Tata Motors: Big news has come about the country’s leading automobile company Tata Motors and it has completed a big acquisition. Tata Motors has acquired Ford India’s manufacturing plant located in Sanand, Gujarat. Tata Motors has done this acquisition through its subsidiary. The company has given this information on Tuesday. Last year itself, the company had informed about its acquisition that the deal to acquire Ford India Private Limited (FIPL) of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited (TPEML) for Rs 725.7 crore has been done.
Tata Motors gave information in regulatory filing
Tata Motors has informed in a regulatory filing that after fulfilling the necessary conditions, Tata Motors has acquired Ford India’s manufacturing plant and machinery along with its property located at Sanand, Gujarat. It also includes the conditions subject to which both TPEML and FIPL have completed due regulatory approvals and transactions.
Transfer of employees also completed
It has also been informed in this regulatory filing that all the vehicle employees present at Ford’s plant who were offered jobs and who accepted the offer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited have been transferred to TPEML. After this, from tomorrow i.e. January 10, that employee has become an employee of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited.
What are the assets included in this acquisition
The acquisition, through Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, includes the entire land and buildings of Ford India Pvt Ltd’s Sanand plant, the vehicle manufacturer’s plant including machinery as well as its equipment. Apart from this, the transfer of all the employees of the Sanand plant and the transfer of all vehicle manufacturing operations have also come to the subsidiary of Tata Motors under this deal.
