T20 World Cup 2024: ICC has fixed May 1 as the last date for the announcement of teams for the T20 World Cup starting from June 1. In such a situation, the Indian team will also be announced within the next one week. But due to this, BCCI Selection Committee Chairman Ajit Agarkar is going to meet Indian team captain Rohit Sharma in Delhi. Their meeting can take place on 27th April because on this day the match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals is to be held at Arun Jaitley Stadium. Rohit will be present in Delhi for this match and Agarkar is going to reach Delhi to meet him. In such a situation, the question is that which players can be approved for selection in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup.

Which names can be approved in the meeting?

Top order batting: Since Rohit Sharma will captain the Indian team in the T20 World Cup 2024. Yashasvi Jaiswal can be given a chance as the second opening batsman, who has strengthened his claim for selection by playing an inning of 104 runs in the match against Mumbai Indians. In IPL 2024, Jaiswal has batted at a strike rate of more than 157, but his form was not supporting him. Now by playing a century, he has staked his claim for selection in the World Cup team. Shubman Gill can also be kept as a backup opening batsman. Apart from him, looking at the form of Virat Kohli at the third position, his place seems to be confirmed. In the current IPL season, Kohli has scored 379 runs at an average of more than 67.

Middle order batting: Suryakumar Yadav may get a place at number four. He is the number-1 batsman in the world in T20 cricket. Not taking him to the World Cup could prove costly for the Indian team. Meanwhile, there is a debate going on regarding the wicketkeeper batsman. Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson and KL Rahul are also in this race, so it will be a very difficult task for the selectors to decide. In case of fast bowling all-rounders, Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dubey can be selected among 15 players. Apart from left-arm off-spin bowling, Ravindra Jadeja and Akshar Patel are also capable of contributing in batting. For this reason he is being seen as an option in the 15 member squad.

Bowling: In leg spin bowling, selectors will have 3 options in the form of Ravi Bishnoi, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. Yuji can also come into the playing eleven after a long time because he has taken 13 wickets so far in IPL 2024. On the other hand, if we talk about fast bowling, it is almost certain that Jasprit Bumrah will play. Apart from them, Arshdeep is playing regularly in India's T20 team.
