T20 World Cup 2024 is just a few weeks away and the Indian team is going to be announced soon. Now a big revelation has been made in the media reports regarding the selection of the Indian team. It is being told that KL Rahul is far ahead of Sanju Samson in the race to be the second wicketkeeper batsman in the team. Whereas in bowling, the place of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav seems almost confirmed. On the other hand, one can be selected among Ravi Bishnoi, Akshar Patel and Avesh Khan.
This report has come out at a time when news of Indian team captain Rohit Sharma meeting Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar very soon is coming out. It is being told that Rohit Sharma is going to meet Ajit Agarkar before the Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians match to be held on 27th April. Since the news of keeping KL Rahul as backup keeper has come out, it is possible that Rishabh Pant's place in the playing eleven of the Indian team seems to be confirmed. Pant has scored 342 runs in 9 matches so far in IPL 2024.
Sanju Samson's performance in IPL 2024 has been good. Under his captaincy, Rajasthan Royals remains at the top of the points table. On one hand, Samson has scored 314 runs in the season, while Rahul has scored 302 runs. Still, it seems as if KL Rahul's selection can be given importance. Bishnoi remains in the race for selection because in the last few series, he has been regularly playing the role of leg spin bowler in the Indian team, but in the current IPL season, he has taken only 5 wickets. On the basis of taking more wickets and current form, one can be selected between Avesh Khan and Akshar Patel, who have taken 8 and 7 wickets respectively in the season so far.
