IPL 2024: Mumbai Indians' first match in IPL 2024 will be against Gujarat Titans on March 24, but even before that the team may face a big shock. According to some reports, Suryakumar Yadav had a fitness test today i.e. on March 19, in which he was not passed. Let us tell you that Yadav has been suffering from ankle injury since the T20 match series against South Africa in December last year, for which he also underwent surgery in the beginning of 2024.
NCA failed in fitness test
There were speculations that Suryakumar Yadav might remain out of the first few matches due to being unfit, but now it seems as if a mountain of troubles is sure to fall on Mumbai Indians. Suryakumar Yadav's fitness test was conducted at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) on Tuesday. After proper examination, the doctor and physio have not allowed him to play yet. After this, it has been decided that Yadav will remain out of the match against Gujarat, while there is doubt over his playing in the next 2 matches. After failing the NCA test, he is in danger of being out of the entire season. After failing in the fitness test, Yadav made a post on social media, in which he expressed his disappointment by sharing a heartbroken emoji.
When did Suryakumar Yadav last enter the field?
Suryakumar Yadav was last seen in the field during a T20 match held in December last year. In the last match of the T20 series against South Africa, he played an inning of 100 runs in just 56 balls. His innings also included 7 fours and 8 skyscraper sixes. That series between both the teams was tied at 1-1.
