DC vs SRH: Sunrisers Hyderabad have scored 266 runs while playing first in the match against Delhi Capitals. This is now the 5th highest score made by any team in the history of IPL. This is the biggest score made on any ground in Delhi in the history of IPL. It was a explosive start for SRH as Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head together took the team's score beyond 100 runs in just 5 overs. And by the end of the powerplay i.e. the sixth over, the team had scored 125 runs. On one hand, Travis Head played an inning of 89 runs in 32 balls, in which he hit 11 fours and 6 sixes. On the other hand, Abhishek Sharma missed out on scoring the fastest half-century in the history of IPL. He played a brilliant inning of 46 runs in 12 balls, hitting 2 fours and 6 sixes.
Score projection at one time was showing Sunrisers Hyderabad's score crossing 400 runs. In such a situation, Kuldeep Yadav had controlled the run rate of SRH to a great extent by dismissing Abhishek Sharma, Aidan Markram and Travis Head in his spell. At one time SRH's score was 154 runs for 3 wickets after 9 overs, but the team could score only 56 runs in the next 7 overs. Kuldeep Yadav's wickets actually brought Delhi back into the match. Aiden Markram could not show anything special, while Heinrich Klaasen scored 15 runs. Meanwhile, young star Nitish Reddy played an inning of 37 runs in 27 balls. In the last overs, Shahbaz Ahmed scored 59 runs in 29 balls and took SRH to the score of 266. Now Delhi Capitals will have to score 267 runs to win.
Bad condition of Delhi's bowling
Delhi Capitals' bowling was in bad shape in this match. Kuldeep Yadav had definitely turned the match, but he also gave away 55 runs in 4 overs. Axar Patel's bowling was excellent, who took 1 wicket for 27 runs in his 4 overs. Mukesh Kumar was also badly beaten, but he took 1 wicket in the last over of the innings. Khalil Ahmed is the highest wicket-taker for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024, but he gave away 51 runs in just 3 overs.
