Sunil Narine scored the first century of his career, became the third batsman to score a century for KKR.

KKR vs RR: Sunil Narine has created history in the Kolkata Knight Riders vs Rajasthan Royals match played at Eden Gardens. After losing the toss, KKR was invited to bat first. Although wickets were falling continuously from one end, but on the other hand Sunil Narine has scored the first century of his IPL career. Narine has completed his century in 49 balls in the match against RR. He also hit 11 fours and 6 skyscraper sixes to complete his century. This is the first century in the entire career of Narine, who is seen as a bowling all-rounder. Before this, he had never scored a century in List-A, First-Class and T20 cricket.

Narine has now become the 5th batsman to score a century in IPL 2024. Before him, Virat Kohli, Jos Buttler, Travis Head and Rohit Sharma have scored centuries in the current season. In the history of the Indian Premier League, till now only Venkatesh Iyer and Brendon McCullum had scored centuries while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders. Therefore, Narine has become only the third player to score a century while playing for KKR in IPL. Narine scored 109 runs in his 56-ball innings, during which he also hit 13 fours and 6 sixes.

Batsman who scored the fastest century for KKR

Sunil Narine has equaled the record of playing the fastest century innings for Kolkata Knight Riders. Till now, the record of scoring the fastest century for KKR was in the name of Venkatesh Iyer, who scored a century in 49 balls against Mumbai Indians in 2023. Now Sunil Narine has also equaled Iyer's record by completing his century in the same number of balls. After him comes Brendon McCullum in this list, who completed his century playing 53 balls against RCB in IPL 2008.
