Sensex-Nifty closed with a rise due to buying by investors, market cap at record high of Rs 404 lakh crore

Stock Market Closing On 25 April 2024: The Indian stock market closed with a strong rise due to the buying that returned to the market in the afternoon. Sensex has crossed 74,000 points and Nifty has gone above 22,500. There has been a strong rise in the stocks of most of the sectors including Banking Pharma IT. At the end of today's trading, BSE Sensex closed at 74,339 points with a jump of 487 points, while Nifty of National Stock Exchange closed at 22,558 points with a jump of 156 points.

Market cap at record high

Due to the tremendous rise in the stock market, the market cap of the Indian stock market reached its historical high. The market cap of stocks listed on BSE closed at Rs 404.09 lakh crore, which had closed at Rs 401.47 lakh crore in the previous session. This means that in today's business there has been a jump of Rs 2.62 lakh crore in the wealth of investors.

In today's trade, stocks of sectors like Banking, IT, Auto, Metals, Pharma, FMCG, Energy, Oil & Gas, Healthcare remained on the rise while real estate and consumer durables stocks closed with a decline. There was a strong rise in midcap and smallcap stocks even today. Nifty midcap index has closed above 50,000. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 23 stocks closed with gains and 7 closed with losses. Whereas out of 50 shares of Nifty, 39 shares closed with gains and 11 closed with losses.
