India vs Pak: India and Pakistan, arch rivals in the cricket world, last played a Test match in the year 2007. In that series of 3 test matches, the Indian team had won 1-0. After that no match has been played between the two countries due to political tension. Now on Club Prairie Fire podcast, former England captain Michael Vaughan asked Rohit Sharma that how would it be if cricket matches are played regularly between India and Pakistan? Vaughan says that no matter where the match is played between the two, the India-Pakistan Test match can be beneficial from the point of view of the World Test Championship.
'This competition will be tremendous'
Rohit Sharma replied, “I believe that their team is good, their bowling is excellent. Especially if played on a foreign ground, our match will be great. According to me, the last test match between India and Pakistan will probably be in 2006.” Or played at the same time. In the end we want to play cricket and from my point of view it does not matter because we play them in ICC tournaments, but about the clash. I want to play cricket. If this competition is good then why not.”
When was the last match of India-Pakistan?
The last match between India and Pakistan was played during the 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup. In that match of the group stage of the World Cup, the Pakistani team was limited to only 192 runs while playing first. Whereas India won the match by 7 wickets with about 20 overs remaining. Now both the teams are going to face each other in the T20 World Cup 2024 as both the teams have been placed in Group A. Their clash will take place on June 9.
