In his 250th match, Rohit Sharma has achieved another historic feat as he has completed 6,500 runs in IPL. Rohit played an inning of 36 runs in 25 balls against Punjab and after scoring 28 runs in the innings, he completed 6,500 runs in IPL.
Played most matches to complete 6,500 runs
The record of scoring the fastest 6,500 runs in the history of IPL is in the name of David Warner. Warner has set this record in IPL 2024 itself. He had completed 6 and a half thousand runs in the 179th match. But Rohit Sharma has become the slowest batsman to complete 6,500 runs in the Indian Premier League. He has achieved this feat in his 250th match. Before him, Shikhar Dhawan had scored this many runs in the 212th match of IPL. Whereas Virat Kohli had achieved this record in the 220th match of his career.
Fourth highest run scorer in IPL
Rohit Sharma is also the fourth highest run scorer in IPL. Rohit has scored 6,508 runs in 250 matches till date, which includes 2 centuries and 42 half-centuries. Ahead of him in this list is Australia's David Warner, who currently has 6,563 runs in 182 IPL matches. Shikhar Dhawan is currently at second position with 6,769 runs. The highest run scorer in the Indian Premier League is Virat Kohli, who has scored 7,624 runs in 244 matches so far.
