Record Breaking ITR Filing Happened In 2023 According To Finance Ministry Data

ITR Filing: A new record of ITR filing has been made in the country. According to the Finance Ministry, the number of people filing returns in the country has crossed 8 crores. The number of people filing income tax returns in the assessment year 2023-24 has been 8.18 crore. There has been a jump of about 9 percent. According to the information, a total of 1.60 crore audit reports and other forms were filled in the assessment year 2023-24. Last year this figure was 1.43 crores.

According to the information given by the Finance Ministry on Monday, the number of people filing income tax returns has set a record. A total of 8.18 crore ITRs were filed in the assessment year 2023-24, whereas the same figure was 7.51 crore a year before. The number of people filing ITR has increased by about 9 percent in the last one year. More audit reports and other forms were also filled in the assessment year 2023-24.

According to the ministry, many information including salary, interest, dividend, personal information, tax payment including TDS, loss, MAT credit had already been collected. This facility has been used extensively. The process of filing ITR has become much easier, convenient and faster than before. Those filing ITR have benefited a lot from this.
