Pakistan Fuel Prices: Inflation is skyrocketing in India's neighboring country Pakistan. Now the government there has increased the rates of petrol and high-speed diesel, due to which the problems of the Pakistani people have increased further. The Government of Pakistan has increased the rate of petrol by Rs 4.53 per liter and the rate of High Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs 8.14 per liter. After this, petrol in Pakistan has come down to Rs 293.94 per liter which was Rs 289.41 per liter before this increase.
Diesel prices have increased by so much
Similarly, if we look at the rates of high speed diesel, it has come down to Rs 289.41 per liter which was Rs 282.24 per liter before the increase. Actually, the government of Pakistan has revised the rates of petrol and diesel for the next 15 days i.e. on 30th April, after which the public will now have to buy fuel at these rates for a few days.
Why did oil prices increase in neighboring countries
The Finance Ministry of the Government of Pakistan has also issued a notification in this regard and has said that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has made this increase on the basis of changes in the price of oil in the international market. Pakistani newspaper Dawn has given information about this.
Rates of other items will also increase
Dawn's report has also given information that most of the transport in Pakistan runs on HSD i.e. High Speed Diesel and there is strong demand for it. Apart from heavy transport vehicles, trains, it is used as the main fuel to run agricultural vehicles like tractors, buses, trucks etc. After this fuel becomes expensive, the cost of running threshers, tube wells etc. also increases due to which the prices of vegetables and other food items increase in this country.
Heavy tax on petrol and diesel in Pakistan
Although General Sales Tax (GST) in Pakistan is zero on all petroleum products, the government there charges Petroleum Development Levy of Rs 60 per liter on petrol and diesel. Apart from this, the government imposes custom duty on both these fuels at the rate of Rs 19-20 per liter due to which their prices increase significantly.
