NPCI says that it has been receiving requests to allow expatriates to use international mobile numbers for transactions through the UPI platform. Non Resident Indians (NRIs) living outside the country will soon be able to make UPI payments through international mobile numbers. In this regard, NPCI has allowed users of certain countries from the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) ecosystem to use the UPI facility for non-resident account types such as non-resident external (NRE) and non-resident ordinary (NRO) international accounts. Facility will be available in these countries
