According to the data till March 2020, the contribution of these three categories in the total AUM of the mutual fund industry was about 58 percent, while their share in the total folio was 80 percent.

In March 2019, the share of these three categories in the AUM of the entire mutual fund industry was 45 percent, which increased to 58 percent after 5 years in March 2024. However, if compared with the previous few years, this would be considered a good growth, because the debt fund category was continuously declining. There was a decline of 2 percent in this category in the financial year 2021-22 and 9 percent in 2022-23. After two consecutive years of decline, the number of folios in the debt fund category also increased during the last financial year.
