JoJo Siwa Reacts to Chloe Fineman’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ Impression

Imitation truly is the sincerest form of flattery, according to JoJo Siwa.

The singer, 20, reacted to Chloe Fineman’s Saturday Night Live impression of her through a post shared on her Instagram Stories on Sunday, May 5.

“ICONIC. I literally don’t know what to say,” Siwa wrote alongside the sketch from the show’s Weekend Update segment, in which Fineman, 35, parodied the star’s new “bad girl” era. 

“This is f—— crazy,” the Dance Moms alum continued. “3 and a half minute skit on SNL….”

During Fineman’s parody of Siwa, the comedian wore a bedazzled black and silver look reminiscent of one from the musician’s recently released “Karma” music video.

“That’s right! I’m a bad girl now! Yes, yes, it’s a pretty big change,” Fineman as Siwa said, doing a spot-on impression of her voice. “I used to be rainbow sparkles, and now I’m black sparkles. I look like if a figure skater joined a street gang.”

Then turning her attention to Colin Jost, Fineman asked him, “Does it scare you, Colin? Does a former child star looking like this scare you?” to which he replied, “Yeah, but not in the way you’re hoping.”

She next declared that she is in her “bad girl era” and attempted to smoke a cigarette, before teasingly calling herself “the first gay girl in the world.”

Back in March, Siwa discussed her new music and “transition” to adulthood with PEOPLE at the 2024 GLAAD Awards. “I’ve seen people before me make this transition, I’ve seen how much I loved it, and I’ve seen also how much the world has criticized us, so I am ready for that,” she said.

“One thing that I think no one’s done is given the heads-up,” Siwa continued, referring to social media posts in which she teased her change. “It was important to me to give that heads-up and be like, look, if you follow along, that’s all you. If you want to go, now’s your time. But in the best way possible, now’s your time.”

“I feel like a lot of child stars started as a character then they grew into an adult as themselves,” she added. “Whereas for me, I’ve always been myself, you know what I mean? And so to make this transition while being true to myself, while being artistic, has been interesting to figure out.”
