Sehwag on Rohit Sharma: Like every time, this time too Mumbai Indians is in difficult times. This time captain Hardik Pandya is facing a lot of criticism regarding his batting, bowling and captaincy. But in this difficult time, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has supported Hardik. He also pointed fingers at Rohit Sharma's captaincy.
What did Virender Sehwag say to the critics?
Sehwag reminded the critics that even Rohit Sharma had not been able to do much as captain in the last three seasons. He neither scored runs nor won the IPL trophy.
In a Cricbuzz interview after Mumbai's defeat against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur, Sehwag was asked whether the pressure is increasing on Hardik? Because he could score only 10 runs and even in bowling, he lost 21 runs in 2 overs.
On this question, Sehwag opined that Hardik does not need to take so much pressure. Mumbai has gone through such situations before also. Even in 2021 and 2022, the team could not reach the playoffs. He said that “Rohit Sharma was the captain in the last three seasons, but could not score runs and could not even win the trophy.”
Sehwag gave advice to Hardik
Sehwag advised Hardik to move up the batting order so that he gets a chance to play more balls and improve his performance. He believes that if Hardik's batting improves then his bowling and captaincy will automatically improve.
