Fallout Goes All Out! See Inside the Lavish Premiere Party

The TCL Chinese Theater was home to an alternate universe in Hollywood last week.

Following a red carpet and screening of Prime Video’s new video game-inspired series Fallout, VIPs were led to sip cocktails and enjoy some music in a sandy, post-apocalyptic world.

A father-daughter duo, some of the first to enter the after-party tent following the show’s world premiere, stopped in their tracks. “We just stepped into the movie,” the man said.

A big cloud of dust was hanging low over the bar at the center of the room — the same cloud that indicated the apocalypse was coming in the opening scene of the show. A larger-than-life-sized robot that leads throughout the season stood by the back of the room.

These details led to audible gasps and flashes of cameras as the tent filled throughout the night.

Soon, Todd Howard — an executive producer at Bethesda Game Studios who led the development of the show — entered the space. He didn’t react much, having spent over a decade creating this world before arriving on the scene to celebrate his work.

“It’s just unbelievable stepping into not just a game, but making it real,” Howard told PEOPLE earlier in the night.

Following behind him were guests who had just finished taking pictures of the sand-covered car surrounded by rocks and fire at the side of the entrance. Seemingly fans of the game, the group of three tapped one another and pointed as they navigated the various food and drink stations.

Appetizers sat on rustic tin trays and unevenly cut wood. The menu featured a twist on Fallout’s signature drink in the game, “Nuka-Cola,” as well as glazed wings, ricotta and roasted tomatoes (the town villain’s food of choice) and some Fallout-fel bites.

A burger stand, called “In-N-Fallout Burger,” had a disclaimer sign on the edge that prompted chuckles from guests: “Fallout is in no way affiliated with or endorsed by In-N-Out Burger. It’s ridiculous to think a chain restaurant would continue to exist in a post-nuclear apocalypse.”

An abundance of plants decorated the bar tops, but their stems were barren — there was not much water in the post-apocalyptic 2200s, as Moises Arias joked to PEOPLE. Drinks were in various colors: yellows, reds and blues reminiscent of the 1950s, when the apocalypse took place and continued to show up throughout the season.

Cast members celebrated one another by the dance floor, where DJ Pete Wentz from rock band Fall Out Boy, led the soundtrack of the night. Jaden Smith stayed the entire night supporting Wentz and mingling with guests.

Briana Venskus and Ella Purnell’s Yellowjackets costars Liv Hewson and Sammi Hanratty shared drinks with one another to celebrate Purnell’s starring role. They also fawned over Purnell’s purple, diamond-studded gown.

Sarita Choudhury chatted with Kyle MacLachlan under the red lights and backdrop depicting disaster. Choudhury kept looking up and around, taking in a scene reminiscent of nine months of her life.

“The first day of shooting, I was blown away that everything was of scale,” she said on the carpet. “I thought it would be more fake, and it’s not. It blew me away.”

All eight episodes of Fallout are available for streaming on Prime Video.
