IndiGo Restores Pilots Increments Amid Excellent Financial Results And Profits

Indigo News Update: The country’s largest domestic airlines Indigo has given a big gift to its pilots. Indigo has reinstated the annual increment of its pilots. It has been decided to restore the salary hike of these pilots from April 2023.

IndiGo’s management has informed the pilots through email that the annual increment of Indian Captains of Airbus and ATR Fleet which is Rs 10,000 per month and Indian First Officers whose annual increment is Rs 5000 per month will be reinstated from April 1, 2023. The decision has been taken which was stopped after Kovid-19. Asim Mitra, who is posted as Senior Vice President Flight Operation in the airlines, has sent this email.

Indigo is planning to review the salary of first officers flying ATR aircraft. These officers are paid less than the captain of the Airbus Fleet. Asim Mitra wrote in the mail that work is being done on this and soon information will be shared about it. Earlier, Indigo had restored the pre-corona salary from November 2022. The annual increment is being re-implemented. But some allowances are yet to be restored.

Indigo has declared excellent financial results in the October December quarter after which the increment has been restored. Indigo’s profit in this quarter has been Rs 1422 crore. Earlier, the airlines had suffered losses in three consecutive quarters. In the same quarter of the last financial year, there was a profit of Rs 129 crore. This year, due to a spectacular jump in revenue from operation and increase in passenger load, the revenue has increased by 60 percent to Rs 14933 crore. This is considered to be the best result of Indigo till date.
