Vivek Express: Everyone must have traveled by train once in their life. Indian Railways is named in one of the largest rail networks in the world. Every day crores of passengers travel by train. You too must have traveled long distance by train many times, but do you know about India’s longest train. This train is ‘Vivek Express’. This train runs from Dibrugarh in Assam to Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. Now North East Frontier Railway has given a big gift to its passengers. Railways has decided that now this train will operate for 4 days instead of two days a week. ‘Vivek Express’ covers the entire distance of 4,189 kilometer between Dibrugarh to Kanyakumari. In this entire journey, the train crosses a total of 9 states. This entire journey takes a total of 74 hours and 35 minutes.
When did ‘Vivek Express’ start?
Let us tell you that Vivek Express was started by Indian Railways on November 19, 2011. This train is the longest distance and longest traveling train in India. This train reaches its destination stopping at a total of 59 stations. Earlier Vivek Express used to run only twice a week, which has now been increased to 4 times.
Know on which days the train will run-
At present, this train Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Vivek Express (15906) runs two days a week i.e. Saturday and Sunday, but now it will run four days a week i.e. Saturday, Sunday as well as Tuesday and Thursday. On the other hand, this train from Kanyakumari will run for Dibrugarh (Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Vivek Express) on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Monday. The new time table of the train will be applicable from May 11, 2023.
The journey will be completed in about 75 hours
Vivek Express This train will complete its journey between Dibrugarh and Kanyakumari in 74 hours and 35 minutes. This train departs from Dibrugarh at 19.25 and reaches Kanyakumari at 22.00 on the fourth day. While leaving Kanyakumari at 17.20 minutes, this train reaches Dibrugarh at 20.50 minutes on the fourth day. There are total 22 coaches in this train in which AC Tier 2 and 3 coaches are fitted. Along with this, sleeper and general coaches are also engaged in the train. If you travel between Dibrugarh to Kanyakumari, AC 2 fare is Rs 4,450. While the AC 3 fare is Rs 3,015 and the sleeper fare is Rs 1,185.
