INDW vs Women: Indian women's cricket team has defeated Bangladesh team by 44 runs in the first match of the 5-match T20 series. India won the toss and decided to bat first. Indian players had scored 145 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. While chasing the target, Bangladesh team could score only 101 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. The sharp bowling of Renuka Singh and Pooja Vastrakar forced the batting of Bangladeshi team to struggle. Renuka Singh contributed significantly to the victory of the Indian team by taking 3 wickets and Pooja Vastrakar by taking 2 wickets.
The Bangladeshi team had lost 3 wickets within the first 29 runs. In such a situation, team captain Nigar Sultana tried to take the team closer to victory by playing a half-century innings, but she did not get support from the other end. Sultana played an inning of 51 runs in 48 balls, during which she also hit 5 fours and 1 six. In fact, 7 players of Bangladesh women's team could not even touch double figures in terms of runs. India bowled so hard that Bangladesh women's cricket team could score only 23 runs in the last 5 overs.
Great batting from India
The Indian team batted first, but the team did not have a good start as Smriti Mandhana was out after scoring only 9 runs. Meanwhile, Shafali Verma played an inning of 31 runs in 22 balls and Yastika Bhatia played an inning of 36 runs in 29 balls. Apart from them, captain Harmanpreet Kaur contributed 30 runs in 22 balls and Richa Ghosh contributed 23 runs in 17 balls. Small partnerships helped the Indian team score 145 runs. With this, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the 5-match T20 series.
