India vs New Zealand 3rd ODI: In the third ODI against New Zealand, Team India’s openers did a bang. Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma scored quickfire centuries. During this, this Indian pair also recorded a special record in their name. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are the first opening pair of India, who hit 5 or more sixes in their respective innings in a match.

India’s first opening pair
On Tuesday (January 25) against New Zealand, Rohit Sharma hit 6 sixes in his 101-run innings. On the other hand, his partner Shubman Gill also hit 5 sixes during his century innings. Before these two, no other Indian pair had done this charisma. However, this was only the third time in ODI history when both openers of a team hit five or more sixes during their respective innings.

Finch-Marsh first made the record

While his partner Mitchell Marsh hit 5 sixes. At the same time, in the year 2020, this record was repeated once again. Bangladesh openers Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das hit sixes against Zimbabwe. Tamim Iqbal hit 6 sixes and Liton Das hit 8 sixes in that match. Now the pair of India’s opener Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill has also been included in this list.

India won the match by 90 runs
