India vs Australia 3rd Test: Australia take a 47-run lead on Day 1 of the first innings against India at the Holkar Stadium

IND vs OFF, 3rd Test: The first day of the third Test match of the series being played in Indore between India and Australia can be completely called the name of Kangaroo team. The first team, showing a brilliant performance in bowling, bundled out Team India’s first innings for 109 runs, in which Matthew Kuhneman took 5 wickets. At the same time, at the end of the day’s play, the Australian team took a lead of 47 runs on the basis of the first innings, scoring 156 runs at the loss of 4 wickets.

After winning the toss in this match, the Indian team decided to bat first. Team Shubman Gill was included in place of Lokesh Rahul, while Umesh Yadav got a place in place of Mohammed Shami. A partnership of 27 runs was seen between Captain Rohit and Shubman. Rohit tried to go ahead and hit the ball of Matthew Kuhneman but he got stumped out.

Had lost 7 wickets till the end of the first session

With the return of captain Rohit Sharma to the pavilion, the Australian spin bowlers clearly started strengthening their grip gradually. Shubman Gill 12, Cheteshwar Pujara 1, Ravindra Jadeja 4 and Shreyas Iyer returned to the pavilion without opening an account. After this, a small partnership was definitely seen between Virat Kohli and KS Bharat. But Bharat 17 and Kohli also returned to the pavilion before lunch after scoring 22 runs. The Indian team’s score at the end of the first session was 84 runs at the loss of 7 wickets.

In the second session, the Indian innings was limited and Australia scored 71 runs.

With the start of the second session of the first day, it did not take long for the Indian team’s first innings to collapse. Thanks to Umesh Yadav’s quick innings of 17 runs, the team definitely managed to cross the 100-run mark, but the first innings was reduced to a score of 109 runs. While Matthew Kuhneman took 5 wickets from Australia, Nathan Lyon took 3 wickets while Todd Murphy took 1 wicket.

Usman Khawaja and Travis Head, who came out to start the innings for the Australian team, could not give a good start to the team. The Kangaroo team got the first blow on the score of 12 in the form of Travis Head, who returned to the pavilion after scoring only 9 runs.

After this, Marnus Labuschagne, who came out to bat, also got luck and when he was dismissed on a score of zero, Jadeja’s ball became a no ball. When the game of the second session ended, the pair of Usman Khawaja and Marnish Labushen took the score to 71 runs.

Khawaja’s half-century came in the third session, Australia lost 3 important wickets

In the last session of the day, the Indian team got its second success at a score of 108 when the dangerous-looking Marnus Labuschagne was bowled by Ravindra Jadeja on a personal score of 31. On the other hand, Usman Khawaja also completed his second half-century in this Test series. Meanwhile, on a personal score of 60, Khawaja gave his catch to Shubman Gill at the boundary in an attempt to play a sweep shot off Jadeja’s ball. The Australian team got the third blow in the match at the score of 125.

At the same time, captain Steve Smith led the innings with Peter Handscomb, but on the score of 146, the Australian team got the fourth blow in the form of captain Smith when he handed over his catch to wicketkeeper KS Bharath off Jadeja’s ball. When the first day’s play ended, the Australian team had scored 156 runs at the loss of 4 wickets and had got a significant lead of 47 runs on the basis of the first innings. Ravindra Jadeja has taken all the 4 wickets from the Indian team so far.
