One such record is recorded in the name of England’s legendary batsman Herbert Sutcliffe, which no one has been able to break for the last 98 years.
Herbert Sutcliffe had completed one thousand Test runs in just 12 innings. He made his debut in June 1924 and in February 1925 crossed the thousand test run mark. In the last 98 years, Everton Weekes of West Indies, Don Bradman and Neil Harvey of Australia and Vinod Kambli of India definitely came close to this record but could not break it.

Everton wicket also completed thousand runs in 12 innings of test. Legend cricketer Don Bradman touched the figure of 1000 Test runs in 13 innings and Neil Harvey and Vinod Kambli in 14-14 innings.
The shocking statistics of Herbert Sutcliffe
Herbert Sutcliffe played a total of 54 Test matches between 1924 and 1935. In 84 innings of these matches, he scored 4555 runs at a batting average of 60.73. He scored 16 centuries and 23 half-centuries during this period. In that period only Test cricket was played and then only a few teams used to have matches. The number of matches was also less. In such a situation, this record of his in that period includes him among the best batsmen of Test cricket.
His figures in county cricket in England have been astonishing. He scored 50,670 runs in 1098 innings of 754 matches in first class cricket. Here he scored 151 centuries and 230 half-centuries.
