Haley Pullos Surrenders to 90 Days in Jail After DUI, Wrong-Way Crash

Haley Pullos is serving time for her 2023 DUI.

On Monday, exactly one year after her arrest on April 29, 2023, Pullos surrendered to 90 days in Pasadena City Jail, her attorney Mark Daniel Melnick tells PEOPLE.

The 25-year-old actress pleaded no contest to the charges from the 2023 hit-and-run followed by a wrong-way crash on a Los Angeles freeway that resulted in bodily injury and property damage. Melnick says she’s set to be sentenced on July 29.

In addition to 90 days in jail, Pullos must serve five years probation, 200 hours of community service and pay $8,260 in restitution to Courteney Wilder, the other driver involved in the crash, according to Melnick.

“Haley is very grateful to the court for a minimum sentence and for recognizing her remorse and the strides she has made in her sobriety,” he tells PEOPLE in a statement.

Shortly after the crash in April 2023, PEOPLE reported that the General Hospital actress was found by law enforcement still in her car and unable to get out. The Pasadena Fire Department had to use the “jaws of life” to extract her from the vehicle, and she was later taken to a local hospital for treatment. Wilder, the other driver involved, was also hospitalized with major injuries.

In June of that year, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office confirmed to PEOPLE that Pullos was being charged with one felony count of DUI causing injury, one felony count of driving with a .08 BAC causing injury as well as one misdemeanor count of hit-and-run resulting in property damage. Reps for Pullos declined PEOPLE’s request for comment at the time, but she reportedly pleaded not guilty to the charges.

In January, Wilder filed a lawsuit seeking damages connected to the crash. Pullos’ legal team has since responded to the lawsuit, denying “generally and specifically each and every allegation” Wilder made in her suit, per court docs previously obtained by PEOPLE.

The soap opera star also denied any responsibility for Wilder’s claim that they “have sustained, or will sustain, any loss or damage in the manner or amount alleged” at Pullos’ hands.

Pullos argued in her counterclaim that the “damages” alleged in the complaint were “proximately caused by either the sole negligent and/or intentional conduct of Plaintiffs.”

Because of this, Pullos claimed financial damages, “if any,” should be “reduced by an amount proportionate to the amount by which Plaintiffs’ negligent and/or intentional conduct contributed to the alleged damages.” She added that “either wholly or in part,” Wilder’s damages were “intentionally or negligently caused by person, firms, corporation, or entities” outside of Pullos’ control.

Pullos requested the case be dismissed and Wilder pay for her legal fees.

Pullos entered a rehabilitation treatment facility following the crash, telling Soap Opera Digest in May 2023 that she was stepping back from the role as Molly Lansing-Davis on General Hospital after being involved in the collision and needing “a little time to recover.”

In a statement to PEOPLE at the time, the L.A. County District Attorney wrote that “drunk driving remains a grave concern in our communities, claiming thousands of innocent lives each year.”

The D.A. added, “Charging Haley Pullos with a felony DUI causing injury underscores the severity of this alleged offense.”
