Gujarat trapped in its own trap, restricted to just 89 runs on a slow pitch; Batsmen yearn to score runs

GT vs DC: Losing the toss has cost Gujarat Titans dearly. His team has been able to score only 89 runs while playing first. Delhi bowlers controlled the match from the beginning as Gujarat had lost 6 wickets within the first 50 runs. Gujarat was playing at its home ground i.e. Narendra Modi Stadium, but the team's batsmen were seen struggling to score even one run. The opening spell of Ishant Sharma and Mukesh Kumar had broken the back of Gujarat Titans' batting. The maximum runs for GT were scored by Rashid Khan, who scored 31 runs in 24 balls. Tristan Stubbs is a batsman by profession, but he also washed his hands in the flowing Ganga by taking 2 wickets in a single over. Now Delhi Capitals will have to score 90 runs to win.

In the innings of Gujarat Titans, 8 batsmen could not even reach double figures. Sai Sudarshan contributed 12 runs and Rahul Tewatia contributed 10 runs. Till the 15th over, the score of Gujarat Titans was 78 runs for 8 wickets. But Rashid Khan stood at the crease like a strong wall. Despite strong efforts, Rashid returned to the pavilion after scoring 31 runs. Rashid Khan was the only batsman to hit a six in Gujarat's innings. Struggling on a slow pitch, Gujarat Titans' innings ended in the 18th over itself when Noor Ahmed was clean bowled by Mukesh Kumar.

Delhi's tight bowling

Delhi Capitals bowlers were getting beaten a lot so far in IPL 2024, but in the match against GT, everyone appeared to be in great form. Mukesh Kumar took 3 wickets, Ishant Sharma and Tristan Stubbs took 2, while Khalil Ahmed and Akshar Patel took one wicket each in their respective overs. Although Kuldeep Yadav could not take any wicket, he kept Gujarat's batsmen under constant pressure by giving only 16 runs in 4 overs. Due to this tight bowling, he did not allow Gujarat to play even the full 20 overs. Khaleel Ahmed has bowled 2 maiden overs so far in IPL 2024 and has come first in terms of bowling the most number of maiden overs.
