Air Taxi in India: The traffic of the country's capital Delhi can make anyone cry. Sometimes people are found saying that it would be great if they could fly. So this dream of yours is also going to be fulfilled soon. IndiGo Airline's parent company InterGlobe and Archer Aviation have finalized plans to start air taxi in the country. Air taxi service in India may start from 2026. After this, you will be able to complete the journey from Delhi to Gurugram in just 7 minutes by spending only Rs 2 to 3 thousand.
200 aircraft will be used for air taxi service
According to the plan, Inter Globe and Archer Aviation will use 200 aircraft for this service. Both the companies hope that they will get the certificate from the aviation sector regulator DGCA by next year. This service will prove to be a boon for the people of Delhi and Gurugram. At present, it takes people about 90 minutes to cover the distance of about 27 km from Connaught Place in Delhi to Gurugram. However, Archer Aviation claims that the same distance can be covered by air taxi in just 7 minutes.
4 passengers will be able to travel with the pilot in eVTOL aircraft
4 passengers will be able to travel along with the pilot in this Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (EVTOL) aircraft. These planes are like helicopters. But, they do not make that much noise and are considered safer. Archer Aviation will supply these 200 e-tool aircraft. This service will also be launched in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Company founder and CEO Adam Goldstein said that our talks are ongoing with America's Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). These aircraft can get certificate soon. Once approval is received from FAA, permission will also be sought from DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation).
