Of the total six accused arrested in the case by the Canadian Police, two are of Indian origin. According to media reports, 54-year-old Parampal Sidhu, an Air Canada employee, has also been arrested. At the same time, the name of another Indian born Canadian citizen, 40 year old Amit Jalota, has also come up in this theft. In this case, the search is on for 31-year-old Simran Preet Panesar, another Indian and former Air Canada employee.
How was the theft carried out?
On April 17, 400 kg of gold bars and foreign currency were transported from Zurich, Switzerland to Toronto, Canada by Swiss banks Raiffeisen and Valcambi. The Swiss Bank had entrusted the responsibility of security of the shipment in Toronto to Miami-based company Brink. The bank had kept these gold bars in the storage depot of the airport. But, three hours after the gold bars arrived, an unknown person took the gold away by showing fake documents. The theft worth millions of dollars was revealed when the real Brink's employee came to collect the gold at night. Brink says an Air Canada employee gave the shipment to the employee on fake documents. The investigation also revealed the involvement of two Air Canada employees in the theft.

The police of Canada and America, who have been involved in the investigation in the last one year, have now achieved great success in this case. In this case, the police have made a total of nine people accused, out of which six have been arrested. The police is still searching for the remaining three people.
