Bangladeshi players may get banned from next IPL 2023 BCCI is not happy with BCB know details

Bangladeshi Players, IPL 2023: Before the start of IPL 2023, some actions of Bangladesh Cricket Board and Sri Lanka Cricket Board were not liked by the BCCI and the IPL franchise, in which case the players of these two countries can be banned in IPL 2024 i.e. the next season. Actually, both the countries have kept their respective bilateral series between the IPL, due to which many players who are part of the IPL team will stay away from the franchise for a few days.

These players will not be present for the entire IPL

IPL 2023 will feature only three Bangladeshi players including Shakib Al Hasan, Liton Das and Mustafizur Rahman and all three players will be available for their respective IPL teams from April 9 to May 5 and again from May 15. Apart from this, three out of four Sri Lankan players will be available for IPL only after 8th April. Vanindu Hasaranga, Mathisha Pathirana and Mahesh Teekshana are present in it. Sri Lanka will be on New Zealand tour till 8th April.

‘Perception will change about Bangladeshi players in future’

Speaking to Inside Sports, a franchise official said, “What is, is what is. We cannot complain because it is the BCCI which talks with other boards. But yes, the franchise will hesitate to pick players from certain countries. If you see, Taskin Ahmed did not get NOC and now this. If they do not want their players to play, then they should not get registered. Obviously the thinking about Bangladeshi players will change in future.

Speaking to local media, Bangladesh Cricket Board President Najmul Hasan Papon said, “You see, I have been asked about this issue time and again and I have given the same answer. Before being called for the IPL auction, the IPL officials asked us about the availability of the players and we gave them the schedule. Knowing this, he went ahead with the auction. I don’t think he has any option of not being available for the Bangladesh matches. It is not that we told them that we can think about it, then there would be some doubt. We cleared it. To be honest, I don’t see any chance of a change of heart.”

Everything is up to the players

Keeping all this issue in mind, a senior BCCI official while talking to InsideSports said, “It is entirely up to the players to convince their board. England, New Zealand and other major boards have worked out ways for this. No one can deny the popularity of IPL and by releasing the players the board also gets their share. But if they decide otherwise, that’s on them.
