Pak vs New Zealand: The T20 series between Pakistan and New Zealand is going to start from 18th April and 5 matches will be played between the two till 27th April. Now even before the start of the series, the Pakistani team may face a big shock. Pakistan team's head coach Azhar Mahmood has talked about the possibility of captain Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi being rested from the series against New Zealand. Shaheen Afridi's fitness was a matter of constant concern, but according to the head coach of the team, it is completely possible to rest both the main players of the team.
Speaking to the media, Azhar Mahmood said, “It can happen. Babar Azam can be rested, but it will depend on the circumstances. We take all aspects into consideration before taking any decision. Shaheen Afridi is completely Fit. I have heard that Afridi may sit out of the first 2 matches. This news has been spread by the media, we have not issued any such official statement.
The first 3 matches of the series between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played in Rawalpindi and the last 2 matches will be played in Lahore. Apart from this, there have also been reports that New Zealand has sent its 'B' team for the series against Pakistan. In such a situation, Pakistan cricket team was surrounded by criticism. Throwing light on this matter, Azhar Mahmood said, “As far as I have seen, New Zealand players have a lot of experience in domestic cricket. He is their best player and no team is weak in T20. I am like the 'B' team. I am listening to the news, but this is the New Zealand team which will be giving competition to Pakistan.”
