It is believed that the idol is installed with the chanting of Veda mantras, after which the idol attains divinity.

Why is life expectancy important? Before knowing this, it is important to know its meaning. The word Prana means life force and Pratishtha means establishment. Thus, the literal meaning of Pranapratishtha is to establish the life force. After Pran Pratistha, the idol of God or Goddess must be worshipped. It is believed that if the established idol of a God or Goddess is not worshiped after its consecration, its power diminishes.

The idol is brought with respect at the beginning of the ritual. The idol is blindfolded and welcomed like a guest. Then fragrant substances are applied on it, the idol is bathed with milk, then the idol is cleaned and made fit for consecration. In the subsequent process, the idol is installed in the sanctum sanctorum and the puja begins. During worship the idol faces east. After installing the idol at the appropriate place, it is chanted.
After the puja, first of all the eyes of the idol are removed by removing the bandage, after which honey is poured into the eyes. After the consecration, the idol feels divine power.
