It’s complicated.
Mere days after her breakup with fiancé Mod Sun, Avril Lavigne popped up at Paris Fashion Week in a pair of literally statement-making looks.
On Tuesday, the “Sk8er Boi” singer shared a series of black-and-white snaps from the City of Light on Instagram, clad in a version of Vetements’ aptly named Hidden Message Blazer ($3,812) emblazoned with telling phrases including “unbreak my heart,” “trust your instincts” and “be patient good things take time.”
And the following day, Lavigne, 38, attended the Courrèges show in another strongly worded Vetements look: an oversized T-shirt that read, “I’m not doing s—t today,” which she paired with thigh-high boots and a floor-sweeping trench coat.
Also in attendance at the show was rapper Tyga, who was spotted hugging Lavigne outside Nobu’s Malibu location as the pair left an apparent dinner date on Feb. 19, sparking dating rumors.
Earlier this week, Mod Sun, 35, opened up about the duo’s ended engagement on Instagram.
“In 1 week my entire life completely changed,” the rapper (real name is Derek Ryan Smith) wrote on Instagram. “I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up + always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken 💔.”
The two musicians got engaged in Paris in March 2022, with Mod Sun presenting Lavigne with a heart-shaped diamond ring from XIV Karats engraved with their names. The pair later celebrated their engagement with a punky Parisian-themed party.
So much for their happy ending.
