New Delhi : Oxford-AstraZeneca has withdrawn the Covishield vaccine from across the world after admitting that it has side effects. Serum Institute, the company manufacturing Covishield vaccine in India, has given a big update.
A large-scale vaccination campaign against corona virus was conducted in India in 2021 and 2022. At the same time, a new variant strain of Corona has been found in India. However, at the same time, the demand for corona vaccines has decreased since December 2021. Therefore, we have stopped the production and supply of Covishield vaccines, Serum said.
AstraZeneca admits the vaccine has side effects
Serum spokesperson has given information in this regard after AstraZeneca withdrew the anti-coronavirus vaccine from the world. Oxford University and AstraZeneca have developed a vaccine against Corona. He recently informed a court that he had experienced rare side effects of thrombosis and thrombocytopenia.
Covaxin and Covishield were used for vaccination in India. The quantity of Covishield vaccine in this was 80 percent.
A statement issued by AstraZeneca said that it is withdrawing the approval given to Vaxveria for marketing the vaccine. He said that due to the Corona outbreak the availability of vaccines is more than required.
Serum Institute spokesperson said that we can understand the difficulties and questions of the people in this regard. Due to TTS, blood clots start forming and the number of cells decreases. Doctors also said that this possibility is rare and serious. TTS has not been detected in India. However, cases of TTS have been reported in some citizens in the UK.
