Air India Boeing 747: Air India's Boeing 747, which ruled the skies for five decades, took its last flight on Monday, 22 April 2024. The Boeing 747 plane, known as the 'Queen of the Sky', has taken its last flight from Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport to America. In the year 2023, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had decided to retire this four decade old aircraft. Air India's Boeing 747 was once called the queen of the sky. At one time, everyone from the President to the Prime Minister used to travel in this plane.

While sharing the picture of the queen of the skies on its official social media account, Air India wrote that today the queen of the skies B 747 has said goodbye to Mumbai. It is further written in the post that today a wonderful era has ended. We are thanking the Boeing 747. We will always remember your iconic presence. The video of Air India plane taking off from the airport has been shared on social media.

Boeing's first jumbo jet arrived in 1971
Air India and Boeing 747 have been together for decades. Air India first included Boeing 747 plane in the year 1971. Air India purchased this aircraft on 22 March 1971. After that, on May 21, 1971, Boeing's 747-400 aircraft, known as Jumbo Jet, was included in the fleet for the first time.
