Tech Layoffs In 2023 Microsoft Meta Facebook Amazon Salesforce And Other Announce Big Job Cuts

Tech Companies Layoff in 2023: The year 2023 was not good for tech companies. Due to the fear of global recession and the Kovid-19 epidemic, companies ranging from tech companies to other sectors had laid off employees. Now this reduction is going to continue in 2023 as well, as many tech companies have announced to lay off more employees. These companies include Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, Salesforce and others.

Consulting firm Gray and Christmas Inc had announced the layoffs of 52,771 people during the year 2022, out of a total of 80,978 cuts by tech companies globally. This is the biggest cut in a month by any industry since 2000. Recently, preparations have been made to lay off a large number of employees in Amazon and Microsoft.

Companies benefited during the epidemic

During the year 2020, tech companies provided the facility to work from home, after which there was a huge reduction in the expenses incurred by the companies. After this reduction, their profits also increased. There was also an increase in the shares, but now the companies are going towards losses. Due to this, preparations are being made to retrench the employees.

Which company is firing how many employees

  • According to Bloomberg’s report, e-commerce website company Amazon is laying off 18000 employees globally.
  • The Facebook-owned company will lay off 10,000 employees.
  • Tech firm Microsoft has announced to lay off 10,000 employees.
  • Salesforce will remove a total of 8000 employees.
  • HP 6000, Twitter 6,700 and Seagate have prepared to lay off 3,000 employees.

Retrenchment plan of these companies too

Let us tell you that Microsoft has laid off 10,000 employees, which is less than 5 percent of the company’s total global workforce. While Adobe will lay off 100 of its employees, tech company Cisco will lay off 5 percent of its employees. Coinbase 1200 employees, Dapper Labs 22 percent, Qualcomm, Silvergate, Upstart and many other companies plan to remove their employees. These companies are firing people during 2023.
