After winning the toss, the South African team came out to bat first and gave a target of 167 runs to India. Team India, who came to chase this, completed this target in 16.3 overs only. Captain Shefali Verma (45) and Shweta Serawat (92) played blistering innings for the Indian team.

Chasing 167 runs, the Indian team got off to a blistering start. Indian team captain Shefali Verma started attacking with the bat from the very beginning. In this match, he scored 45 runs in 16 balls with the help of 9 fours and 1 six. After Shefali’s dismissal, however, India suffered two setbacks in the form of Trisha (15) and Soumya (10). But one end of the team was handled by Shweta Sherawat and played a stormy inning of 92 runs in 57 balls with the help of 20 fours. Shweta Serawat was also given the Man of the Match award for her amazing batting.
With the victory over a strong team like South Africa, India has reached the top of the points table of its group. India showed a wonderful game in the first match and unilaterally won the match. India now has to play its next two matches with UAE and Scotland. Looking at the way the Indian team has defeated the South African team, it is believed that Team India will easily win both their upcoming matches and will enter the next phase of the Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup.
